Keerai Vada

Ingredients Required:
Spinach - 2 cups (washed and finely chopped)
Whole Urad Dhal - 1 1/2 cup
Channa Dhal - 1/4 Cup + 2 tbsp
Split Urad Dhal - 2 tbsp
Red Chillies - 2
Green Chillies - 2
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - few, finely chopped
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

How to make?
Soak the urad dhal and channa dhal (1/4 cup) together for 2 hours. Soak the split urad dhal and channa dhal (2 tbsp) seperatley for an hour.
Grind the soaked dhal, red chilli, green chilli into a coarse paste adding minimum water as required.
In a mixing bowl, add the paste, spinach, cumin seeds, salt, curry leaves, soaked split urad dhal and Channa dhal and mix well.
Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
Take small balls of the batter, gently pat between palms and gently drop them in the oil.
Fry till golden brown on both sides.
Do the same for the rest of the batter.
Place on paper towels to absorb the extra oil.
Serve hot with ketchup or chutney of your choice!
