Methi Malai Mutter

Serves 2
Ingredients Required:
Methi Leaves - 1 bunch, chopped
Peas - 1 Cup
Onion - 1 Cup, chopped
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Bay leaves - 2
Cloves - 3
Cinnamon Stick - 1
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Fresh Cream - 1 Cup

How to make?
Soak the chopped methi leaves in water so the bitterness reduces.
Heat little oil in a pan, and add the cumin seeds.
Microwave the peas for 5 minutes and set aside.
Add the onion and fry for few minutes till the onions become transparent.
Add the peas and fry for a minute and add the soaked methi leaves.
Add all the masala powder along with salt and mix well.
Add the fresh cream or milk.
If the gravy is too thick add milk till you get the required consistency.
Just heat on low for a minute or two after adding the milk or cream not more than that.
Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro.
Serve with any type of Indian bread or rice.

Tip: If you do not have fresh cream, it can be substituted as follows.
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
Melt the butter and mix with milk. This equals 1 cup fresh cream.
If you are calorie conscious, skip the fresh cream and add milk. The gravy would not be as thick and creamy as the one with fresh cream, but it is less fattening.
The second time I made this gravy I made it with milk without any fresh cream and trust me it tasted good! So I guess I am not going to add fresh cream from now on for this gravy! Atleast save some calories :)
