Beans Parupusili (Iyengar Style)

This is a traditional south indian side dish made with beans and dhals.


Serves 2

Ingredients Required:
Beans - 1 lb, chopped
Channa Dhal - 2 tblsp
Toor Dhal - 2 tblsp
Salt to taste
Red Chillies - 6
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Oil - 1 tblsp
Hing - pinch

How to make?
Soak the channa dhal, toor dhal in water for 30 minutes.
Grind the soaked dhals along with the 6 red chillies and hing without adding water into a coarse paste.
Heat oil in a pan and splutter with mustard seeds.
Add the chopped beans and the coarse dhal paste and salt.
Add little water and close the pan and cook on low heat for 10 minutes or till the beans are cooked.

  1. Good one..... Try using Kothavarangai..... I tried last evening using Kothavarangai and it came really well. Infact you can even add few dessicated coconut gratings.....
