Peas Pulao (without onion)


Serves 2
Ingredients Required:
White Rice - 1 Cup
Cumin seeds - 2 tbl.sp
Bay leaves - 2
Cloves - 4
Cinnamon stick - 1
Frozen Peas - 1/2 Cup
Salt as required.
Oil - 1 tbl.sp
Ghee - 1 tsp

How to make?
Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and add the bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon and cumin seeds. Saute for few minutes.
Add the drained rice grains to the pan and saute till the rice grains are coated with oil.
Add the peas and ghee
Boil 2 cups of water separately. Add this boiling water to the pan.
Add salt and ghee.
Give a gentle mix and close the pan.
Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes and then low heat for 10 minutes.
Gently fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot with gravy of your choice.

  1. Thanks for the receipe. I had some modifications to this.

    1. Generally I add 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. Here I added 0.75 cup of Coconut Milk and 1.25 cups of water for the same 1 cup of rice. The catch is that quantity of coconut milk should be less than quantity of water.

    2. Added some beans and carrots as well to make more vegetables :)

    I wanted to comment earlier but somehow it jus got delayed.. I tried your Peas Pulao last diwali and it was very delicious.... every1 just loved it at home... Thanks for the recipe...
